I've been buying Dawn lately as it's recommended for washing the cross stitched pieces I do, I guess it pulls the oils out of the fabric that your hands leave behind. Talk about different kinds! Wow!

Wed, October 10, 2007 - 12:34 PMI can't wait for the day that I have a dishwasher again!! These victorian houses I swear... anyway right now I'm on generic brand in ocean breeze or something like that.. I was on Dawn.. omgosh did you try the one with the foam where you only had to use one pump and you could do a whole sink of dishes off it!! I tell you that stuff was the best!! I buy that when it's on sale! -

Re: Dish soap?
Wed, October 10, 2007 - 12:46 PMThe foam stuff is great! You do need dish soap too even though you have a dishwasher. I really can't imagine washing dishes by hand that much, though I did it last year when I didn't have a sink upstairs. I had to lug the dishpan down the basement for a month!

Thu, October 11, 2007 - 6:09 AMDawn is great. every once in awhile i will get one of the "aromatherapy" ones, but i always end up going back to the original blue.
i hate dishwashers. to me they are twice as much work. i would rather just do them and get them over with. -

using dawn to wash cross stitch pieces??? wow! never thought of that! what's the process? I'm always afraid to wash them, as I think they'll lose their colors or they'll bleed.
for me, using dawn is just cheap & easy. i'm not blessed w/a dishwasher, so i'm not the greatest at getting my dishes done. I've had to do w/out now for about 4 years, & 8ish before that...ugh... -

Re: Dish soap?
Fri, October 12, 2007 - 8:25 PMActually most of the embroidery floss won't run. The only iffy colors are red and black, but I only remember red being a problem years ago. I only give my project a quick soak and make sure the corner where my hand hit it is clean. I heard Oxyclean is good for XS too.
