Dressing for the Holidaze

Last year our newspaper said that Christmas sweaters were oh so passe'. Then dozens of women sent in their pictures wearing theirs and saying how they loved them. I have a darling one I've had for years and decided to get a new one and the women's store I went to didn't have any in larger sizes; was I gritched.

I made some t-shirts with those iron on Christmas designs.

For more formal occasions I have a velvet pants suit my sister gave me, and a turquoise sequins dress with jacket.

Just around the house and shopping I wear red a lot with Xmas pins on them.

Omgosh I LOVE those iron on things!!! I didn't even know they still made them honestly.. I loved those things as a kid.

Usually for Christmas I wear a velvet dress and put my hair up.. I keep jewelry to a minimum, because I'm in the kitchen a lot on that day. The pre-Christmas day I wear a lot of dark reds and greens.. scarves are awesome this time of year for a little extra color to the wardrobe.

I use to have Christmasey sweaters or vests when Sean (my grown son) was a little guy and I volunteered at the school holiday shoppe. Now I mainly stick to dress up things, but usually slacks (it's too cold for dresses) and a nice sweater. I have a nice outfit I bought for my 30th high school reunion that I will probably wear for Christmas-gray slacks and sparkley red top.

Thanks gals-I like the top too, though I think both pieces were a wee bit big on me (for a change). I'm thinking a needed a little boogie room for the dance floor at the reunion.
Hawaii-that's gotta be cool at this time of year. An old classmate, who sat at our table has lived there for 20 odd years and she looks lots older than many of the rest of us.

The sun can do terrible things to a person!! Must stink--you live in paradise but end up aging badly from too much sun exposure!

Sun damage, lack of sleep, and stress are the 3 main factors that age you!! And I'm thinking Sun Damage is THE one thing you can stop the most on your own.. but of course they say it's the sun damage BEFORE the age of 20 that gets you!.. Luckily, I've always been more an indoorsy type lost in books than an outside girl. You can REALLY see the people who've had too much sun.. but I bet that means they had a fun time in their youth!
