I'll be glad when the last of the cold vanishes. I have been trying to get rid of stuff I have hoarded for eBay. If I don't sell it, it's going. We want to get a treadmill for the space that stuff takes up.
My husband has his own bathroom in the basement (that's where they put it-the house is 47 yrs old) and I find that he hoards stuff in there-a desk, his old toys from home, magazines that are getting old. I do take up a lot of the space throughout the house though. ; )
Do you find hoarding tendencies in your own home?

Re: That springy time of year
Fri, March 9, 2007 - 5:54 AMyes.
i Love spring cleaning (although, actually i'm not a fan of spring, lol)
It makes the Energy on all levels just kick up........
i definitly open all the doors and crank up the music and the get the boxes going. We donate clothes, books, toys that are no longer used. (Books are my biggest hoard!) I usually trade those to my mom in law and she will then go to the 2-1 kind of bookstore and trade them.
Objects d Art which i seem to have alot of also so i try to keep some out and some packed.....that way i can rotate.
I go thru my magazines, tear out what i like and then put them in a binder; i use the rest of the magazine as lighting starters for our chiminea.
wow, i need to get on the stick, lol -

Re: That springy time of year
Sun, March 11, 2007 - 3:45 PMI'm so happy spring is finally coming around!! Omgosh here in the city it's like summer today.. I dragged Jack to the market for Popsicles and oranges! My big project for spring is to box things up that we don't use regularly and work on the floors both hardwood and vinyl squares.. I'm thinking of getting new ones. I thought too of maybe doing some painting.. but I don't know how much longer we'll be here. -

Re: That springy time of year
Wed, March 14, 2007 - 7:35 AMI am slowly donating stuff to a church here. Some members take things but most of it is transfered to the mainland. I don't know where it goes from there. My husband doesn't collect anything. I am lucky that leaves me all the room because I am a pack rat. -

Re: That springy time of year
Thu, March 15, 2007 - 10:40 AMI'm a pack rat, my husband is one, mom is and at least one of my three brothers is. I heard Peter Walsh from the show on TLC say we save stuff because we may need it some day or for memories.
My mom is so impossible with her stuff. She is pushing 77 and I told her she'd feel so much better if she'd unload half (or more of the stuff in her house). She had a friend move furniture and it looked like a bomb dropped in there over the weekend. I went to her house yesterday to help her sort stuff and she wouldn't let me because 'I didn't know what she wanted'. Um...I know good stuff from junk as I've been a mad sorter here and have lots more to go through. She did say on the phone today after I pushed her again and she said I could help. -

Re: That springy time of year
Tue, March 20, 2007 - 9:00 AMWanted to post a couple tips I heard on GMA today!
1. Use a lemon to get cheese off a cheese grater if it's stuck on
2. use clear tape to clean between your keyboard keys.
I haven't tried the first one, but I just did the second one.. and hello cat hair!! hahahaha.. it really works! -

Tue, March 20, 2007 - 9:20 PMTape is a good thing for cat hair, stuff on your clothes (like when a tissue explodes in the wash) and I use it on the back of the sofa where my stray hairs seem to accumulate. -

Wed, March 21, 2007 - 11:53 AMYep!! They said you can get double sided tape if you want.. but I don't have that around here.. but just take it and run it through the crevices and it totally works.. I was actually surprised by how much lint and stuff was there. I don't eat at my desk, but my husband does and he was like ewwww gross.. hahahaha! -

Wed, March 21, 2007 - 11:54 AMOh Dianne, that's such a good idea about the pre-grated! Jack always says it's a waste of money for us, but HE"S not the one doing the clean up!! Hahaha! I swear that boy likes cheese on EVERYTHING!
